Snow White’s Battle Intensifies
Posted by | Category: Uncategorized | May 16, 11

Now that the new opening date has been released, the other Snow White production (directed by Tarsen Singh) is being questioned on wether or not is going to change its opening date as well.

Here is the article:

Since neither Universal Pictures nor Relativity Media are blinking about going ahead with rival Snow White films, it seemed inevitable that Universal would not be content for its film to come out six months later. So the studio has just swapped release dates of Judd Apatow’s next untitled film (which was supposed to come out June 1), and has given that June 1, 2012 date to Snow White and the Huntsman. At present, Relativity Media’s film, The Brothers Grimm: Snow White, is dated for June 29, 2012 with shooting to begin in August. We’ll have to see whether Ryan Kavanaugh’s film division reconsiders. That Tarsem Singh-directed film stars Julia Roberts, Lily Collins, Armie Hammer and Nathan Lane. The lesson of rival films about Truman Capote and In Cold Blood echoes loudly here. Capote came out first, won an Oscar for Philip Seymour Hoffman, and nobody cared when Infamous came out later. Being the second film on the same subject is perilous and when that prospect faced Baz Luhrmann and Dino De Laurentiis on their Alexander the Great movie because Oliver Stone beat them to the start gate, the project was scrapped.

Universal’s decision comes days after the studio finally set Thor star Chris Hemsworth as its Huntsman, which Deadline was the first to reveal would happen. He joins Kristen Stewart, Charlize Theron and Sam Claflin in the Rupert Sanders-directed film. Apatow (who must be strutting after Bridesmaids defied expectations last weekend) will move his film back to December, 2012 on the release calendar.

Considering the slate funding history these two parties have had, they are really going at one another.

Snow White (Stewart), is an incredible beautiful young woman with raven hair, fair skin, and ruby red lips. Snow White’s beauty is ultimately its own
curse because, when she becomes the fairest in the land, she becomes a threat to her step-mother Ravenna (Theron). Snow White loves Prince
Charmant, a boy of the same age who she was separated from as a teen. Snow White has been forced to live under the hard rules of Ravenna
where her only friends were the animals that would come to see her. Snow White’s life is turned upside down when Ravenna discovers that Snow White is about to become the fairest. She’s driven from the castle and Eric is sent to kill her. Eric is a huntsman who is haunted by the death of his wife, Sara. He was deeply in love and cannot silence the pain caused by her loss. He drinks heavily and spends his days hunting for the White Wolf
that killed Sara. He is purely mercenary, taking the money Ravenna offers to bring the most beautiful maidens in the land to the castle. However, when Eric discovers that the White Wolf works for Ravenna, he escapes with Snow White to the Dark Forest and begins preparing to get his revenge.
(Release date December 21, 2012.)

Thanks Larry! ;-)

Thor’ Star Chris Hemsworth To Star Opposite Kristen Stewart: Closes ‘Huntsman’ Role In Snow White Saga
Posted by | Category: Article, Other Projects | May 13, 11

EXCLUSIVE: Now that ‘Thor’ opened strongly around the world, its star Chris Hemsworth is one hot Aussie hunk. He’s just closed a deal for the good guy role opposite Twilight Saga starlet Kristen Stewart as the Huntsman in Snow White And The Huntsman which is Universal’s version of the fairy tale that also stars Charlize Theron. Rupert Sanders is directing. Newcomer Hemsworth and his good looks allowed for heavy PR to drum up appeal for Thor among women with his shirtless clip a popular choice for talk shows with large female audiences. He’s repped by WME and ROAR management partner and co-founder William Ward who talent-spotted Chris during one of the manager’s many scouting trips to Australia. Ward brought him to Los Angeles and really put him out there to casting directors and production executives. Chris read for the part of Thor but wasn’t given a test because a casting director had nixed him early on. Chris’ younger brother Liam (who’s also a ROAR client) then tested for the role of Thor, but Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige passed. Then, after a conversation with Ward (“You’ve got to reconsider Chris, he’s your guy”), Feige decided to let Chris read again. And once Marvel put him on tape, it was “Oh my god”. Hemsworth is in Joss Whedon’s UA-orphaned Cabin In The Woods which just got picked up by Lionsgate, is the lead in that Red Dawn remake, and played “George Kirk” in J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek reboot. Down under, he played “Kim Hyde” on 171 episodes of Home and Away, the successful Oz TV series where Heath Ledger started.

Lily Collins Says Kristen Stewart’s Snow White Film Is “Very Different” From Hers
Posted by | Category: Article, Videos | May 13, 11

We chatted with the lovely Lily Collins this week as she hit up VH1 offices promoting her new movie Priest. We’re super excited for all of the movies she has coming down the pipeline too — Abduction with rumored boyfriend Taylor Lautner, The Mortal Instruments series, and of course – The Brother’s Grimm: Snow White. The film has some competition—Kristen Stewart‘s helming another Snow White and the Huntsman alongside Charlize Theron, Sam Claflin and possibly Chris Hemsworth (fingers crossed). We asked the actress how it feels to be working on one of the two Snow White flicks.

Kristen Stewart: I Love Vancouver
Posted by | Category: Article | May 12, 11

Kristen Stewart has revealed one of the best things about starring in the ‘Twilight’ movies was getting to film in so many great countries, especially Canada.

Kristen Stewart fell in love with Vancouver while she was shooting the ‘Twilight’ movies.

The 21-year-old actress – who recently finished filming the final scenes for the two ‘Breaking Dawn’ movies in the city and Squamish, British Columbia – admits it was a great experience to shoot in the Canadian city because it has so much natural beauty.

She said: “We shot most of the ‘Twilight’ series in Vancouver. I fell in love with it – it’s such a beautiful city. I found the climate so different from what I’m used to in Los Angeles. The air is clean and fresh and there are beautiful mountain views everywhere. But I didn’t get to go out as much as I would have liked.”

Vancouver isn’t the only place to have captured her heart during the filming of the vampire movie franchise.
